Assistive Technology Solutions Process -- Our Approach to Independent Living

The purpose of the Discovery Interview Process is to determine the best assistive technology solutions to meet your care needs and help you implement them.

 

To that end, we follow a three-phase process with you:

Phase 1: Needs Assessment

Needs Assessment

We meet with you to, first, familiarize you with CareGiver Technology's services and with assistive technology in general, with regard to the many areas of concern surrounding independent living that both caregiver and end user may experience.

 

The main purpose of this step is to determine your current situation and concerns about maintaining your independent lifestyle.  We will listen, ask questions as needed, and record the findings.  All information shared with us during the Discovery Interview is held in strictest confidence.

Phase 2: Selection

Selecting the Right Assistive Technology

With the specific needs and desires of the caregiver and/or end user identified, this step then focuses on reviewing and selecting the assistive technology options which provide the optimum solutions.

 

During our discussion, CareGiver Technology will review the advantages and disadvantages of each option in light of the caregiver/user's needs.  It is important to note that CareGiver Technology does not represent any manufacturer of assistive technology devices, but rather serves as a neutral, objective resource intent only on helping you determine the best solution for your situation.

 

If the caregiver/user should ask for the recommendation of CareGiver Technology, we will provide such recommendation, with reasoning as to why we favor the specific solution for the specific concern.

 

With a selection made by the caregiver/user, CareGiver Technology will assist by immediately placing an order for the chosen solution, advising the caregiver/user of the time frame for delivery.

Phase 3: Implementation

Implementing Assistive Technology Solutions

Upon delivery of the selected assistive technology item(s), CareGiver Technology will arrange a convenient date and time with you to install the items.  We will then train the caregiver and/or end user to ensure your comfort in the application and effective use of the items.

 

To ensure your satisfaction, CareGiver Technology provides 1-month and 6-month courtesy follow-up visits to ensure all is performing as desired.  Further, we will keep you apprised of any new developments in assistive technology that may be even more beneficial in meeting your specific needs.
